How to Use Children's Hat Size Chart?

All children are different - also when it comes to head size/ hat size.

In the size chart below, we have listed average head/hat sizes based on child's age. But remember that there are huge differences between children. So do not buy a new hat only based on this chart (unless the hat store has a fair return policy) :)

Age or head circumference is often used as size reference when it comes to children's hats. But from 3 years and up, youth sizes (Youth S, M, L and XL) are sometimes used.

If your measurement (inches) is located between two sizes, always round up.

Premature (Preemie)

Youth Size:

6.5 inches (16.5 cm)

20-21 inches (51-54 cm)
